Ocwen Remains Committed to Helping New York Homeowners Better Afford Their Homes

Local outreach events scheduled in Brooklyn, Bronx, and White Plains to meet one-on-one with distressed borrowers

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., June 05, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ocwen Financial Corporation (NYSE:OCN), a leading financial services holding company, will join Neighborhood Housing Services of New York City, Inc., Community Housing Innovations, and Neighborhood Housing Services of Brooklyn for three upcoming borrower outreach events in the New York metropolitan area to help families having trouble making their mortgage payments.

The events are in response to the success of similar events held earlier in 2018, where Ocwen met with New York metropolitan area homeowners to help them find mortgage solutions to better afford their homes. Since the beginning of 2016, Ocwen has participated in more than 12 borrower outreach events in the New York metropolitan area, and has met face-to-face with more than 550 Ocwen customers to discuss loan modification options.

The upcoming June 2018 events will be held:

  • Wednesday, June 6, from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time, at NHS Brooklyn, located at 2806 Church Avenue, Brooklyn, New York. For more information call (718) 469-4679.

  • Thursday, June 7, from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time, at the Crowne Plaza, located at 66 Hale Ave., White Plains, New York. For more information visit the event webpage.

  • Saturday, June 9, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time, at 2475 Westchester Avenue, Bronx, New York. For more information call (929) 268-3790.

Homeowners who attend the events will meet one-on-one with Ocwen Home Retention Agents and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-approved counseling agencies to discuss their unique situations and to receive information about potential options to lower their mortgage payments.

“Despite a better economic environment, the high attendance rate at our previous New York events demonstrates that many borrowers still have difficulty meeting their mortgage payments,” said Jill Showell, Senior Vice President of Government and Community Relations at Ocwen. “Working closely with seasoned non-profit housing counselors, Ocwen’s goal is to meet in-person with as many borrowers as possible to find responsible solutions to help families remain in their homes and part of their communities.”
