Bravatek Board Member Earns More Accolades for Cybersecurity and Risk Management Expertise

(OTCPink:BVTK) (“Bravatek,” or the “Company”) announces that Bravatek Board member Chuck Brooks has garnered several additional recognitions from leading media and security organizations for his insights and contributions in cybersecurity.

On Monday, Chuck was selected by Cyber Startup Observatory as “Cybersecurity Leader of The Week.” The purpose of the Cybersecurity Startup Observatory is to collaborate to build a safer financial industry and to help solve critical problems leveraging cybersecurity innovation.

Last week, Chuck was named the No. 2 “Global Influencer in Cybersecurity” by a distinguished panel of 30 judges commissioned by IFSEC. IFSEC Global, launched in the UK in 1972, is a world-renowned, leading provider of news, features, videos and white papers for the security and fire industry. A total of 20 cybersecurity global thought leaders were selected for inclusion in the list. The judging panel included CISOs from Fortune 50 companies as well as other top security leaders. 

The award criteria defined “Influence” as follows:

  • Someone who has been a driving force in changing regulation, standards/guidance or best practice

In addition to serving as a Bravatek Board Member, Chuck is the Principal Market Growth Strategist for General Dynamics Mission Systems for Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies. LinkedIn named Chuck as one of “The Top 5 Tech People to Follow on LinkedIn” out of their 550 million members.  He is also an advisor to LinkedIn on cybersecurity and emerging technology issues. In both 2017 and 2016, he was named “Cybersecurity Marketer of the Year” at the Cybersecurity Excellence Awards. In government, Chuck has received two senior Presidential appointments. Under President George W. Bush, Chuck was appointed to The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as the first Legislative Director of The Science & Technology Directorate. He also was appointed as Special Assistant to the Director of Voice of America under President Reagan. He served as a top Advisor to the late Senator Arlen Specter on Capitol Hill, covering security and technology issues. 

In industry, Chuck has served in senior executive roles for Xerox as Vice President & Client Executive for Homeland Security, for Rapiscan as Vice President of R & D, for SRA as Vice President of Government Relations, and for Sutherland as Vice President of Marketing and Government Relations. He was also Vice President of Federal R & D for Rapiscan Systems.

Chuck is adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University, teaching a course in homeland security risk management. He was an adjunct faculty member at Johns Hopkins University, where he taught a graduate course on homeland security for two years.  He has an M.A. in International relations from the University of Chicago, a B.A. in Political Science from DePauw University, and a Certificate in International Law from The Hague Academy of International Law.
