NEW YORK, June 22, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The American Health Council recently appointed Preeti Rana, MD to its Board of Physicians for her outstanding dedication to improve others’ lives at her practice, Preeti Rana, MD, PC in Arlington, Va. Dr. Rana and her husband, Dr. Irmindra Rana founded their practice more than a decade ago and have provided high-quality care since. Specializing in general medicine, obesity, diabetes, thyroid disorders, asthma, arthritis and depression, Dr. Rana has spent 21 years molding and practicing her skills to ultimately provide immaculate services to her patients for the last 20 years.

With a desire to work with an array of patients, Dr. Rana decided to pursue a career in the medical field to help as many people as possible. She enrolled at Baroda Medical College in Vadodara, India, and earned a medical degree in 1998. By 2002, she completed an internship in internal medicine at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, N.J., and immediately began an internal medicine residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J. After completing the residency in 2004, Dr. Rana — who was board-certified in internal medicine by then — set out to practice her passion in the medical field.

Dr. Rana attained her goal to work with myriad patients after establishing a practice with her husband. Together, they provide exceptional healthcare to the neighboring communities in Arlington, Va. Each day, she utilizes her comprehensive medical skills to treat patients suffering from an array of ailments including hypertension, asthma, diabetes, arthritis, and other common medical problems. Her husband, Dr. Irmindra, serves as a nephrologist with over 18 years of experienced clinical interest in hypertension kidney diseases and general medicine.

Her successful practice is a product of passion and dedication for her career. She maintains a fruitful profession by informing herself of new developments within her field and staying ahead of the latest medical trends. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, an organization that provides resources to its 152,000 members nationwide. Dr. Rana ensures to help others as she provides charitable care to patients in their homes who cannot travel, and she donates to UNICEF.

In her free time, Dr. Rana maintains an active lifestyle as she enjoys traveling and playing tennis. She is a fluent Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu speaker. She plans to continue to thrive in her field by expanding her practice and treating patients who struggle with obesity management, as she is currently on the path toward becoming board-certified in obesity management.
