FogHorn Joins Expert Panel at AI Business Con, with a Focus on Edge Computing

FogHorn CEO David King will provide insight how edge intelligence can provide security, networking and monitoring benefits for industrial companies on July 11

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 11, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FogHorn, a leading developer of edge intelligence software for industrial and commercial Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, today announced its CEO, David King, will serve on a panel at AI Business Con. The invitation-only event, which will focus on how advances in machine learning, machine vision, conversational AI and cybersecurity are transforming business, takes place 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. PST in San Francisco on July 11.

David has been selected to join a panel of experts for a discussion entitled, “AI coming to a network near you.” He will share FogHorn’s unique perspective on the power of edge computing with a focus on its value to telecommunication companies, particularly in terms of its benefits in providing added security as well as improved efficiencies for network management and monitoring.

Edge computing, which includes edge analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence, is a highly innovative approach to data processing which is quickly picking up traction in the IIoT market. IDC predicts that, by 2025, there will be 80B connected devices generating 180 trillion GB of data. Accenture estimates the IIoT could add $14.2 trillion to the economy by 2020.

  • WHAT: “AI coming to a network near you”
  • WHEN: July 11, 2018 at 10:40 a.m.-11:40 a.m. PDT
  • WHERE: San Francisco

“Between 5G and LPWAN, most telecommunication companies are preparing to make significant infrastructure investments in the coming years,” said David King, CEO of FogHorn. “Now is the opportune time for these businesses to consider edge computing, which can yield massive ROI. Making changes now will set companies up for success further down the road as well. For example, 5G’s low latency will allow more computing of data by IoT devices at the edge, keeping data and processing on or near these devices for better performance and enhanced data security.”

Also on the panel are Miro Salem, founder and CEO of 3TEN8; Mohit Lad, co-founder and CEO of ThousandEyes; and, Soma Velayutham, with global AI telecom development for Nvidia. The panel will be moderated by Roy Chua, co-founder and chief product officer at SDxCentral.
