Mist Systems Included as a Visionary in Gartner Magic Quadrant for the Wired and Wireless LAN Access Infrastructure, Second Year in a Row

Evaluation Based on Completeness Of Vision and Ability To Execute; Record Year of Growth for Mist’s AI-driven Wireless Platform

CUPERTINO, Calif., July 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --  Mist, the pioneer in self-learning networks powered-by artificial intelligence (AI), today announced that the company has been recognized as a Visionary in the Gartner, Inc. 2018 Magic Quadrant for the Wired and Wireless LAN Access Infrastructure1. This is the second consecutive year Mist has been named a Visionary in this report. Mist was also recently included as a Visionary in the first-ever 2018 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Indoor Location Services, Worldwide2.

According to the report, “Evolving enterprise requirements for greater access layer intelligence and automation continue challenging networking vendors. Infrastructure and operations leaders should evaluate wired and wireless LAN infrastructure based on increasingly complex needs for access network services and management.”1

This has been a banner year of accomplishments for Mist. In just the second year of shipping product, Mist has become the wireless standard for many of the Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies, with 900 percent year-over-year average growth. After an oversubscribed Series C funding round led by Kleiner Perkins, the company invested heavily in global expansion, with local teams and/or partners now in place throughout North America, EMEA, ANZ, India, APAC and Japan.

The company continues to set the bar for AI innovation in IT, including the release of the world’s first AI-driven virtual network assistant, Marvis, which uses natural language processing to provide unprecedented insight into the Wi-Fi experience and prescriptive guidance for fast troubleshooting. Marvis complements other industry firsts from Mist, including Wi-Fi service levels, dynamic packet capture, automated event correlation and user engagement using virtual Bluetooth LE.

In addition, Verizon launched a managed software defined Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) service using Mist,  and it was recently announced that the Mist Learning WLAN is part of the Palo Alto Networks® (NYSE: PANW) Application Framework.

With continued corporate, product, and industry momentum, Mist has quickly become one of the fastest growing vendors in the history of networking.
