The North American Market for Vacuum Tank Truck/Body Manufacturing: 2017-2018 to 2022

Dublin, Aug. 03, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The "Vacuum Tank Truck/Body Manufacturing in North America: Hydro Excavators, Industrial Vacuum Loaders, Combination Sewer Cleaners & Coded Vacuum Tank Truck/Bodies - 2017-2022 Analysis & Outlook" report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com's offering.

This report is a comprehensive evaluation based on analysis of 43 manufacturers of bodies for coded vacuum truck applications in North America, with detailed analysis of product types, competitive environment and forward demand outlook underlying projected market growth.

Included are size of the coded vacuum tank truck/body manufacturing industry in 2017; analysis by body type, with shares in units and by sales value; manufacturers by type, with competitive positions and market shares; end-use segments and distribution channels; market outlook for 2018 through 2022; and profiles of the 43 identified North American manufacturers of coded vacuum tank truck/bodies, from small regional companies to units of large publicly-traded corporations

Vacuum trucks are equipped with heavy-duty industrial vacuum units and are designed to vacuum liquid or particles from a site and transport the load for disposal or re-use. Vacuum tank truck/bodies which transport hazardous liquids are required to conform to specifications and codes established by the US Department of Transportation (DOT) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

The report covers four key types of coded vacuum truck/bodies: hydro excavators, industrial vacuum loaders, combination sewer cleaners, and coded vacuum tank truck/bodies.

These types of vacuum truck/bodies have higher entry barriers as compared to the non-coded variants, on account of superior technical requirements and higher safety standards required at manufacturing facilities. Because of overlap in manufacturing capabilities of these more sophisticated vacuum products, companies in one of these segments offer all or most of the other high-end vacuum body types.

The project is a "bottoms up" approach based on examining virtually all participants manufacturing these types of vacuum tank truck/bodies in North America, aggregating their sales and unit production into an industry-wide picture. In addition to leading manufacturers, the report provides valuable information on niche and fringe players, who are often targets for acquisition. Consolidation can be expected as leaders vie for market shares in application-specific markets.

The ten leading fabricators manufactured more than 70% the total units of the types of vacuum truck/bodies covered in this report, with the leading player accounting for 25% of the market in units manufactured.

Increased drilling activity since 2010 resulted in a surge in demand for coded vacuum tanks, hydro excavators and to some extent, vacuum loaders. Demand for these vacuum tank truck/bodies has been subdued since mid-2014 due to a downturn in fracking activities and was mainly restricted to replacements until end-2016. However, in the last couple of years, the decline in oil/gas drilling applications has been offset to some extent by the improvement in construction activities and the general economy, resulting in healthy demand for hydro excavators from the utility sector, and also for sewer cleaners.

These and other issues are analyzed in this report, to provide a perspective on the industry structure and dynamics of this highly specialized industry. The report can be put to immediate use for sales and market planning, M&A identification, competitive share analysis, alliances and technology transfer considerations.
