Full Spectrum Announces Corporate Name Change to Ondas Networks

New name, Ondas, reflects Company’s mission to provide wireless connectivity for the global Industrial Internet

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Full Spectrum Inc., a leading supplier of private licensed wireless data networks for mission critical industrial markets, today announced its corporate name change to Ondas Networks Inc. The new name, Ondas, reflects the Company’s expanded mandate to become a worldwide leader in Industrial Internet connectivity for Mission Critical Internet of Things (MC-IoT) applications and critical infrastructure providers in multiple sectors including electric, gas and water utilities, oil & gas, government and transportation.

Over the past two years, Ondas worked closely with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Utilities Technology Council (UTC), the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and leading US electric utilities to develop a new mission critical wireless Industrial Internet standard. Published in Q4 2017, the new worldwide standard, IEEE 802.16s, is based on the Company’s intellectual property, which is also available for licensing.  This standard is relevant to all critical infrastructure providers that operate their businesses over large geographical regions requiring industrial-grade connectivity. The IEEE 802.16s standard enables scalable, future-proof, next-generation communications networks – freeing customers from high-cost proprietary legacy technologies.

“Our new name, Ondas, reflects our continued dedication to delivering MC-IoT solutions for critical infrastructure providers beyond the electric utility market,” said Stewart Kantor, co-founder and CEO of Ondas.  “We’ve recently seen a dramatic increase in demand for our standards-based solutions and will continue to invest in our capabilities for supporting the growing MC-IoT opportunity to serve customers. We are adding customer service and support talent worldwide as we open new industrial market opportunities in transportation, water, government and oil and gas, among others, that require the reliable network connectivity we can provide to maintain and improve their operations."

Kantor continued, "The Industrial Internet has massive potential to generate efficiency and productivity throughout our customers’ operating environments. LTE and WiFi-based data networks aren’t built to handle the unique MC-IoT demands of industrial operators.  As Ondas drives the adoption of the IEEE 802.16s standard, we will foster the development of a vibrant, multi-vendor eco-system across large, global critical infrastructure end markets – making our standards-based solutions even more valuable.”
