Lucidworks Hires Ellen Petry Leanse as Chief People Officer

New executive hire sets industry standard, conveys Lucidworks’ commitment to leading with people first and making a fantastic culture core to the Lucidworks brand

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 23, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lucidworks, the leader in search-driven applications, today announces the hiring of tech veteran and leadership influencer, Ellen Petry Leanse, to lead the firm’s HR function and company culture development as Chief People Officer. Leanse’s hiring comes alongside Lucidworks’ effort to continue scaling across the Global 2000 and beyond. This addition to Lucidworks' executive team demonstrates the company's commitment to empowering human resources and talent as the company continues its growth.

“Silicon Valley’s future rests on people and culture as much as on any idea or innovation,” said Leanse. “It’s thrilling to see Lucidworks differentiate itself as a leader in human resources as well as in search. I’m excited to guide our path in creating a high-quality employment experience and working with this team to make a positive impact on people’s lives.”

While Leanse’s history is rooted in product management (she was part of Apple’s original Macintosh launch team in 1984), her diverse career includes experience in entrepreneurship, marketing, strategy, and teaching. Named a Silicon Valley Woman of Influence and one of technology's Top Five Marketers, Leanse is acclaimed as a pioneer of early digital innovation due to her groundbreaking work building online communities for Apple in the mid-eighties. Additionally, Leanse has helped many tech companies with organizational design, professional development, and executive coaching.

Leanse, a respected speaker on topics including the neuroscience of innovation, leadership, the future of work, diversity and inclusion, organizational development, and wellness, released her first book, The Happiness Hack, last year. Her perspective on these topics has landed her on NBC’s Today, CNN, and in publications including CNBC, Entrepreneur, and dozens of other high-level publications.

“At Lucidworks, we want to bring customers and employees the best experience possible. We strive for high-quality employee experiences every day and under every condition,” said Lucidworks CEO Will Hayes. “The addition of Ellen to the executive team will ensure we do just that.”

This hire signifies the firm’s differentiation from other technology organizations and showcases Lucidworks’ commitment to a high-quality employee experience, instituted from the highest possible level within the company. The addition of Leanse to the executive team will add an enormous amount of value to how the company is built and will provide a perspective on executive decisions that are crucial to the future development of Lucidworks.
