Cloudleaf Collaborates with VMware to Deliver IoT-at-Scale to Enterprises, Showcases Intelligent Sensor Grid at VMworld 2018 U.S.

Attendees Use Cloudleaf Sensors to Chart Their Own Paths Through the Conference

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 28, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cloudleaf, Inc., an emerging leader in digitized Commerce/Edge IoT solutions, today announced a collaboration with VMware to bring innovative IoT solutions to customers in variety of industries.

The collaboration combines Cloudleaf’s end-to-end IoT solution with VMware Pulse IoT Center to allow customers to track, visualize, monitor and better secure hundreds of thousands of different types of edge systems and connected devices across their IoT initiatives. Cloudleaf delivers the “Data Plane” to connect and collect data from the physical world leveraging purpose-built sensors, gateways and cloud technologies. VMware Pulse IoT Center delivers the “Control Plane” to easily on-board, manage, monitor and better secure diverse IoT edge systems, connected devices and applications from a single console.

Cloudleaf is also showcasing its innovative technology at VMworld 2018. Attendees at the August 26-30 conference in Las Vegas will have the option of using free Cloudleaf’s consumer grade sensors to chart their own paths through the conference. The volunteer attendees — who can keep the sensors for their own personal use after the event — will effectively self-demo a portion of the functionality that today processes 100 Million location, condition and path-flow data points per day and generates 70 Million predictive insights per week.

Cloudleaf will enable attendees using the free sensors to track anonymized attendance at various IoT sessions throughout the show. Anonymized tracking information will be put to real-time use to measure attendance at key IoT sessions, improve the overall event setup and comply with safety regulations like maximum room capacities. Heat maps analyzing foot traffic visualizations will showcase the concentration of attendees at any IoT session in real-time, and can help note trends in attendance. Ranking algorithms based on sessions attended will qualify the attendees to participate in daily raffle and giveaways at the VMWare IoT Solution Showcase booth.

The volunteer attendees will chart their activities throughout the five-day event, providing a real-time, on-the-spot illustration of the more extensive functionality of Sensor Fabric™ and Cloud Solutions. After the event, the volunteer attendees can keep the sensors for their own personal use, using a “key finder” app available on iTunes or Google.

VMworld 2018 U.S. is the industry's largest virtualization and cloud computing event. This year’s conference is at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

“With an event of this size, there is a lot of information to digest and the show floor itself is massive,” said Mimi Spier, vice president, Internet of Things, VMware. “Cloudleaf and VMware have a common goal of speeding up IoT adoption for organizations by enabling their solutions to reduce the time and effort required to setup an end-to-end IoT solution and improve the experience. The ‘Sensor’ showcase is a simple and easy way to demonstrate the power of a quick time-to-value solution.”

“Over the course of five days, VMworld 2018 attendees will be able to see exactly what we mean when we say that we give voice to all things physical to enable Intelligent Digital Ecosystems,” said Cloudleaf Chief Executive Officer Mahesh Veerina. “Cloudleaf is at the confluence of digitization — of commerce and at the edge. There is no better place to illustrate that than VMware 2018, and there are no better demonstrators of it than its attendees.”

The fast-moving, point-to-point nature of the event will serve as a microcosm of the value chains that Cloudleaf helps optimize.
