Open Source Integration Leader WSO2 Appoints Darin Bartik as New Chief Marketing Officer

Enterprise software executive brings two decades of expertise to drive revenue growth and community contributions

Mountain View, CA, Aug. 29, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Open source integration leader WSO2 today announced that Darin Bartik has joined the company as chief marketing officer (CMO). The former BMC, Dell, and Quest software executive brings nearly 20 years of software experience in building and leading unique strategies that create tighter internal alignment, better customer community experiences, and profitable revenue growth.

Darin will report to WSO2 CEO Tyler Jewell and oversee the company’s global marketing, aimed at scaling both direct and partner programs across the global community of open source users and enterprise customers. Additionally, Darin will lead education, evangelism, and community building around the WSO2 Integration Agile Platform and Ballerina, the new cloud-native programming language optimized for integration.

Driving the Move Toward Integration Agile
Darin joins WSO2 to support the company’s next stage of expansion around the WSO2 Integration Agile Platform, which has evolved from WSO2’s collaboration on over 2,000 integration projects fueling 6 trillion transactions each year.

“As the largest open source integration vendor, we’re seeing first-hand how organizations’ competitiveness is directly linked to the agility of their integration methods. Our recent product innovations and roadmap aim to make integration as agile as the DevOps methodology and the new cloud-native stack, rather than the restrictive waterfall approach built into current middleware technology and integration processes,” said WSO2 CEO Tyler Jewell. “The integration market is more than $30 billion and growing. Having worked with Darin in the past, I know he brings equally big ideas that will help WSO2 grow faster than the market.”

“Fundamentally, the world needs to integrate. But, more importantly, I believe the world increasingly wants to integrate,” said Darin Bartik, WSO2 CMO. “In the era of digital transformation, leading enterprises and governments alike are proving that innovation and sustainable success require integration in many forms, beyond just the app and service stack, including integration of their internal teams and with new ecosystem partners.”

Community and Customer Service
WSO2 believes in and operates according to the open source software method. Unrestricted access to the functionality of products is available without a commercial license. Revenue at WSO2 comes from subscription-based technical support of its products and expert professional services, so the company’s success is built by providing a great experience for customers. The community and service-centric business model is a perfect fit with Darin’s success in driving business growth by creating superior customer experiences.

“I could not be more proud to join WSO2 where strong technology products that integrate and foster business are built for and with contributions from the community, and supported by an unmatched commitment to customer service and value,” Darin said. “It’s the perfect storm at the perfect time!”
