TORONTO, Sept. 05, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tequila Tromba (“Tromba”) is excited to announce their partnership as an Official Sponsor for the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival®. As the Opening Night Gala fast approaches, the city is preparing to welcome the biggest movie stars and filmmakers from across the globe, and Tromba will be at the heart of the action throughout the 10-day Festival.

Screening 300 films from 83 countries, TIFF is the world’s largest public film festival attracting an audience of more than 500,000 people.  TIFF’s VIP guests will enjoy Tromba offerings at a variety of official TIFF engagements including the Festival’s Opening Night Party on September 6th, World Premiere screenings and a host of exclusive cocktail receptions - culminating in the TIFF Awards Ceremony on September 16th.

"Combining vibrant energy and our love for Toronto's independent spirit, Tromba is a welcome addition to TIFF and will also be the Festival's first premium tequila brand partner,” said Jennifer Frees, TIFF’s Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships.

Tequila Tromba was founded in 2011 by Eric Brass and is well-known for its master distiller Marco Cedano, previously the master distiller behind Don Julio and Reserva de Los Gonzalez. From the outset, the Tromba brand opted to take an unchartered path of grassroots marketing efforts to build brand awareness. As a result, Tromba has successfully built meaningful and lasting ties with the city’s vibrant hospitality sector and can be found in more than 1,000 hotels, restaurants, nightclubs and bars in Toronto.

“We are witnessing remarkable trends in the tequila market today,” said Eric Brass, Founder of Tequila Tromba. “Modern consumers are now seeking closer connections to the brands that they ultimately choose to buy, which is why we believe we have seen so much growth here in Toronto…it is our connection to the city. With TIFF just one day away, Tromba is excited for the festival to begin and to share our tequila in new and unique ways over the next 10 days.”

The success of the Toronto market has also fueled growth into the United States, where Tromba is currently one of the fastest growing premium tequilas with no signs of slowing down.

“Tequila has recently evolved to become a genuine premium spirit offering, something almost unthinkable as of five years ago,” said Brass. “The growing cocktail culture can be cited as this primary reason for this premiumization of tequila and you can definitely see that rippling through Toronto.”

The Toronto International Film Festival runs from September 6th - September 16th, 2018. www.tiff.net for more details.
