EFI Nozomi and VUTEk h3 Win a Pair of Prestigious SGIA Product of the Year Awards

FREMONT, Calif., Sept. 05, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SGIA has recognized Electronics For Imaging, Inc. (Nasdaq:EFII) technologies with two prestigious SGIA Product of the Year Awards. The awards honor outstanding digital imaging products, and both the EFI™ Nozomi C18000 single-pass inkjet corrugated packaging press and the new EFI™ VUTEk® h3 LED superwide-format printer were award winners.

A breakthrough innovation in digital corrugated production
The EFI Nozomi press, which was recognized as Product of the Year in the Single-Pass printer category, employs LED UV inkjet technology for ultra-high-speed, high quality printing on corrugated board for premium-quality packaging and display graphics applications. Built for 24/7 production, the Nozomi C18000 supports board sizes up to 1.8 x 3.0 meters at speeds up to 246 linear feet per minute, or up to 10,000 35x35-inch boards per hour, two up.

The press is a premier technology for high-volume digital corrugated packaging production. Leading corrugated manufacturers in Europe, North America, Asia and the South Pacific all use EFI Nozomi presses to meet growing demand for high-quality digital production. And, in addition to the new award from SGIA, the EFI Nozomi C18000 has received additional top industry honors such as a 2018 Printing Industries of America InterTech™ Technology Award and a 2018 EDP Award.

Signage production re-engineered from the ground up
EFI’s other winning product, the EFI VUTEk h3 superwide-format LED inkjet printer was the SGIA Product of The Year award honoree in the UV Hybrid/Flatbed High Volume Production Class category. The VUTEk h series, which is making its North American debut at this year’s SGIA Expo, is a completely reimagined, reinvented reengineered and refined high-volume superwide format hybrid roll-to-roll/flatbed inkjet printer platform. The VUTEk h3 supports media up to 126 inches wide and has a print resolution up to 1,200 dots per inch.

The printer is a highly extensible platform as well, one that gives users the option of increasing throughput capabilities as needs demand. The VUTEk h3 model can be upgraded in the field to an EFI VUTEk h5 model, giving users up to 47% higher productivity with top print speeds of 109 boards per hour.

“We are honored to receive these prestigious awards from SGIA,” said Ken Hanulec, vice president of marketing, EFI Inkjet, and co-general manager, EFI Inkjet Display Graphics. “This recognition underscores EFI’s unwavering commitment providing customers with superior-quality technology, and our continued dedication to the markets we serve.”

SGIA's Product of the Year competition showcases digital imaging products that keep the specialty imaging industry moving forward. Awards will be presented during the 2018 SGIA Expo, October 18-20, in Las Vegas.
