Phenom People Releases Exclusive Fortune 500 Talent Experience Data

Report Underscores the Impact of a Negative Candidate Experience

AMBLER, Pa., Sept. 05, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Phenom People, the global leader in Talent Relationship Marketing (TRM), released its third annual State of TRM report showcasing the successes and failures of candidate experiences in the Fortune 500. Each company was scored and ranked with a numerical value to show how companies compare to one another in their talent acquisition strategy.

Key Findings from the Research

The data shows companies continue to fall short in three essential categories; attraction, engagement, and conversion:

  • 84 percent lack personalization throughout the talent experience
  • 1 out of 3 has a visible and easily accessible apply button
  • 59 percent fail to articulate their employee value proposition
  • 98 percent do not communicate the status of a candidate’s application
  • 17 companies do not have an interactive career site

“One of the important things that this year’s TRM report highlights is that there are several ‘low-hanging fruit’ opportunities for employers to improve their career site,” said Lori Sylvia, Founder and CEO of Rally™ Recruitment Marketing. “Just making three content updates – adding employee stories and photos, a ‘Why Work For Us’ section, and information about ‘What To Expect’ before and after applying for a job – will help companies instantly humanize the candidate experience and distinguish their employer brand.”

Successes of Top Performing Companies

Top performers scored higher by providing an intuitive, efficient, and personalized talent experience. These high scores were attributed to: impactful and personalized career site content; robust and tailored job description language; and a simplified and user-friendly application process. These top performing organizations are better positioned to compete in the war for talent as compared to the underperforming companies in this report.

Failures of Low Performing Companies

Conversely, lower ranked organizations had a broken experience due to a lack of: career site content; a simple apply process; candidate feedback and surveys post-apply; and entire exclusion of a centralized hub for all application submissions. These companies are at an immediate disadvantage in attracting top talent. They are not actively engaging the candidates they need to build a successful employee base.

“With the lowest unemployment rate in decades, companies have to be more innovative than ever to provide better candidate experiences than their competitors,” said Mahe Bayireddi, CEO of Phenom People. “This report illustrates one of the reasons why we do what we do. We strive to help companies find the right talent through the most positive candidate experience possible.”
