LAUNCH OF INSTALLER SERVICE

11 SEPTEMBER 2018

Sandal Plc, the designer, developer and manufacturer of electronic products, is pleased to announce that the Energenie MiHome division has now launched the installer service for its MiHome Smart Home range. The service is being managed by Icon Heating Solutions (“Icon”) who have assembled a network of suitably qualified installers. The initial service is to be in the areas of the M5, M40 and M4 where there has been a high adoption of smart home products.

Sandal CEO Alan Tadd commented “We announced in our July trading update that it was our intention to start an installer service so signing an agreement with Icon for the M5, M40 and M4 area is the first step to provide national coverage. We see that the installer service will assist us to grow more rapidly as the Smart Home markets moves to a “done for me” stage. Hive has demonstrated the increased sales potential that comes from having field technical support. The installers will be supported by the growing number of electrical and plumbing wholesalers stocking our product. The service is being announced at six industry shows in the coming months and leaflets are available with product and on point of sale”

“Customers can access the installer service via our landing page: https://energenie4u.co.uk/installation  and then be transferred to Icon’s page where the service can be arranged http://www.iconheatingsolutions.co.uk/installation-by-smartnet/  We believe that the cost of the service is very attractive and market competitive against other install services from the likes of Hive and Nest.”

“We are also very encouraged by the growing demand for Smart Home as demonstrated by some significant growth in sales by Amazon this summer. In the period from June to August inclusive Amazon increased systems sales of MiHome by 330% and MiHome device sales by 442% compared with 2017.”

Sandal has continued to grow its user base at an increasing rate and there are currently 13,935 gateway systems installed with 61,453 devices connected.  The Company intends to launch a monthly subscription service over the next 12 months which is expected to generate a recurring revenue stream from consumers for the first time.
