Atomic Data Steps up to Support Dakota Child and Family Clinic

IT Company Becomes Major Funder to Help Underinsured Obtain Healthcare

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Atomic Data, a Minneapolis-based IT as a Service company, today announced its support for the Dakota Child and Family Clinic (DCFC). Dakota Child and Family Clinic is a Minnesota-based nonprofit corporation dedicated to the promotion of health in Dakota County, MN and the surrounding areas. Atomic Data donated $46,000 to assist the continued operation of the clinic, and has pledged, over time, to donate a total of $100,000 to further DCFC’s mission.

"We are thrilled to partner with Atomic Data to strengthen our integrated, patient-centered model. Atomic Data's support will enhance the DCFC team's ability to carry out our mission of providing high quality health care, support and education to Dakota County and the surrounding areas, regardless of a patient's ability to pay,” said Miranda Noll, Executive Director, Dakota Child and Family Clinic.

The Dakota Clinic recently faced a budget shortfall caused by the illegal activities of the previous Finance Manager. “We reviewed the books,” said Jim Wolford, CEO of Atomic Data, “they’ve cancelled all credit cards, brought in an independent CPA, and a new Director. There’s a proper system of checks and balances in place to prevent any future mismanagement. Beyond that, there’s a community that needs this clinic. That’s the bottom line.” Now that DCFC is stable, Atomic Data will be a major financial contributor moving forward.

Atomic Data plans to offer the clinic more than money, as they’ve committed volunteer time and provided a connection to Atomic Data’s vast network of non-profits. The time and assets should help deliver invaluable resources, drive awareness, create lasting community partnerships, and increase DCFC’s donor pool.

Much of DCFC’s patient base has limited access to primary care. Many are uninsured or underinsured. Atomic Data’s pledge will help DCFC produce better health outcomes, allowing patients to lead healthier and more productive lives. The donation will be used for operational support to provide patients with high quality health care including a full range of pediatric and adults services, free support groups for the community, autism support in the Somali community, on-site counseling, interprofessional education of health care professionals, and more.
