Independent Research Firm Names Distil Networks a Leader in Bot Management

Distil Networks the only vendor to receive differentiated rating in nine of ten criteria evaluated

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 25, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Distil Networks, the global leader in bot mitigation, today announced it has been named a Leader in “The Forrester New Wave™: Bot Management, Q3 2018” report by Forrester Research. The report evaluated twelve of the most significant vendors in the bot management market.

Vendors included in the study were evaluated on ten criteria and where they stand in relation to each other, including attack detection, attack response, management UI, threat research, reporting and analysis, feedback loops, performance metrics, vision, road map and market approach. Distil was the only company to receive a differentiated rating, the highest possible, in nine of the ten criteria. Overall Distil was evaluated as having the strongest strategy and the strongest current offering.

“Growing awareness around bots has been matched with heightened sophistication of automated tools attempting to execute a number of fraudulent activities,” said Tiffany Olson Kleemann, CEO of Distil Networks. “We are thrilled to see Forrester highlight the ever-evolving bot management market, and honored to be seen as a Leader in this space. Distil has been laser-focused on finding solutions to better understand, detect and mitigate automated attacks since 2011 and we think this esteemed recognition acknowledges our accomplishments over the past seven years.”

Forrester’s evaluation noted that Distil “excels with robust detection, response, user interface, and reporting… The company is continuing with its data science roots, researching new detection methods.” Additionally, the report states, “Distil Networks is best for firms that want flexibility in bot management. Customers of Distil Networks have granular control over how the tool detects and responds to attacks.”1

According to the report, “for many buyers, threat research will be a key decision criterion, as it indicates whether the vendor continually updates its products for the next wave of bot attacks.” Distil has continued to present leadership in its analysis of the evolving bot landscape through the development of its in-house Research Lab and the publication of several recent reports, including its annual Bad Bot Report, that analyzed hundreds of billions of bad bot requests at the application layer to provide insight and guidance on the nature and impact of automated threats.
