Mawer Investment Management Ltd. Announces Organizational Updates

Steven Visscher, CFA, appointed co-manager of Mawer balanced, global balanced, and tax effective balanced strategies


CALGARY, Alberta, Sept. 26, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Effective September 30, 2018, Steven Visscher, CFA, will assume the role of co-manager of the Mawer Balanced Fund, the Mawer Global Balanced Fund, and related strategies. Mr. Visscher, an investment counsellor for private clients with nearly 20 years of experience, has worked closely with Greg Peterson, CFA, lead manager of the funds and strategies, since joining the firm in 2005. Mr. Peterson will remain lead manager of both strategies.

Mr. Visscher will also be joining lead manager, Travis Goldfeldt, as co-manager of the Mawer Tax Effective Balanced Fund. Craig Senyk will be stepping down as co-manager of the Fund in order to focus on his role of president effective January 1, 2019.

Asset Mix Committee updates

The Asset Mix Committee is responsible for asset mix decisions related to balanced mandates using inputs from all asset classes, and benefits from the broad expertise of our portfolio management team as a whole.

The following changes to the Asset Mix Committee are effective September 30, 2018:

James Redpath, co-manager of the firm’s global bond and Canadian bond strategies, Steven Visscher, co-manager of the balanced, tax effective balanced, and global balanced strategies (see above), and Paul Moroz (or CIO delegate) will join the firm’s Asset Mix Committee. Michael Crofts will be relinquishing his Asset Mix Committee duties as of September 30, 2018, and Kara Lilly left the firm June 21, 2018 in order to pursue other opportunities.
