BIRMINGHAM, Ala. and MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 02, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Shipt, a leading same-day delivery marketplace, and Target Corporation (NYSE: TGT) today announced it will begin same-day delivery of more than 55,000 groceries, essentials, home, electronics, toys and other products in eight inland Southern California markets. Same-day delivery will also include beer and wine from participating Target stores. Shipt will become available in each metro on the following dates:

  • Oct. 16: Murrieta, Temecula, Palmdale, Lancaster, Palm Springs and Victorville, California

Shipt’s growth in the Inland Empire gives nearly 1.3 million households across the eight metro areas access to products delivered by Shipt in as little as one hour. In the coming months, Shipt will also launch in the Los Angeles and San Diego metro areas. Shipt’s continued launch throughout California will ultimately offer same-day delivery to more than 11 million households across the state. To celebrate the announcement, new Shipt members in California who sign up before launch will receive an annual membership for $49 (regularly $99).

“Shipt’s expansion throughout California will now allow us to bring the convenience of same-day delivery to residents in Southern California. Members in eight new metro areas now have access to everything from groceries to electronics at the click of a button,” said Bill Smith, founder and chief executive officer, Shipt. “Through our app, our members have access to everything they need, when they need it, right at their fingertips. Looking ahead, Shipt will continue to expand and bring same-day delivery to a growing number of households across the country.”
