Backcountry Discovery Routes® (BDR) Signs on to The Progressive® International Motorcycle Shows® (IMS) Tour to Share the Adventure of Life on Two Wheels


IMS and BDR to Bring Adventure Out! to the 2018-2019 IMS Tour

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct. 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Progressive® International Motorcycle Shows® (IMS), an industry leader on connecting powersports’ leading brands with enthusiasts and buyers, today announced that non-profit organization, Backcountry Discovery Routes® (BDR) will be the official host of Adventure Out! during the 2018-2019 IMS Tour. Adventure Out! is a space to learn, explore, and share the adventure of life on two wheels. The space debuted on the 2017- 2018 IMS Tour to encourage attendees to get out and ride, and features leading brands in the adventure and touring segments and guest speakers sharing stories about their experiences on two wheels. Adventure Out! is one of the staple attractions on the IMS Tour, centered around educating attendees on the adventure and touring lifestyle through exciting stories about life on two wheels from experienced riders, as well as the most innovative gear and accessories from leading manufacturers. As the official sponsor of Adventure Out!, BDR will have a representative at all seven stops on the tour, giving daily presentations, interacting with attendees and sharing the Adventure Out! experience beyond the show floor.

Adventure Out! will also feature a 360-degree virtual reality (VR) opportunity at all seven stops on the IMS Tour that offers attendees the opportunity to visually experience BDR routes at the show. The VR experience will take participants through key sections of Colorado, Arizona, and California based routes that include rugged-terrain, narrow paths, high-mountain roads, and vast landscapes, providing the thrill of an authentic adventure riding experience in a controlled environment.

Peter Starr – One of the pioneers of filming and televising motorcycle sport in the United States, Starr has produced and directed more than 40 television specials on motorcycling and motorsports. His work has been seen on ESPN, the BBC, ABC, and The History Channel among others. Starr will participate in Adventure Out! at IMS Minneapolis, Cleveland, and Chicago, talking about his world travels and experience with motorcycling.

Jocelin Snow – Starting at the age of 12, Snow has now participated in road racing, flat track, hare scrambles, motocross, and supermoto competitions over her career, including the 2018 BMW GS Trophy Challenge. Snow is an avid motorcyclist who has owned over 40 motorcycles, owned and operated an off-road riding school, and appeared on TV for Zero motorcycles. Snow will present at IMS Long Beach and Washington DC, sharing stories from her esteemed racing career and unique background.
