Albany, NY, Nov. 02, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CDPHP is partnering with the Rudy A. Ciccotti Family Recreation Center to offer members exclusive access to a free new fitness benefit. Under the agreement, CDPHP commercial members* will receive access to the Next Steps™ and Kids on the Move programs which will be fully reimbursed by CDPHP.

Next Steps™ Fitness Programs
These 8-week programs are designed for those transitioning from or managing a chronic medical condition, such as cancer or heart disease, undergoing an interventional procedure, such as knee or hip replacement or seeking to improve their level of physical activity. Participants enroll in the program, choosing one of nine pathways, with a physician prescription. On-boarding includes a comprehensive health assessment and individualized exercise plan by a certified fitness specialist. Throughout the program, participants engage in two 60-minute supervised exercise sessions twice weekly with unlimited access to equipment and classes. Upon completion of the program, participants receive another comprehensive health assessment and free two-month membership.

Kids on the Move
This 8-week program provides children ages 7 - 15 with fun and effective exercises that build healthy muscles, bones, and joints. Participants will become comfortable and confident about exercise with guidance from a certified fitness specialist. Participants receive a fitness assessment at both the beginning and end of the program, an individualized exercise plan, and instruction on techniques and exercises for a healthy lifestyle. Upon completion of the program, participants receive a free one month membership to the Ciccotti Center.
*These programs are not currently available to CDPHP Medicaid or Medicare members. To verify eligibility, call CDPHP member services at the number on your ID card.
