Attis Industries Announces Launch of Its New App “Bright City”

Mauldin, South Carolina is the First City to Pilot Novel App

MILTON, GA, Nov. 29, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via NEWMEDIAWIRE -- Attis Industries Inc. (NASDAQ: ATIS) (the “Company” or “Attis”), a diversified innovation and technology holding company focused on renewable fuels, bio-based plastics, healthcare and a high-tech communications infrastructure, today announced that the City of Mauldin, South Carolina is piloting the Company’s novel mobile application (“App”) called “Mauldin Mobile,” which Attis has developed under the trade name Bright City (www.brightcityapps.com).  Officially launched November 29, the free app is designed to facilitate better ways for city staff and leaders to communicate and connect with their residents.

Through the app, the city can send alerts regarding important notices and community activity without the clutter of social media.  The city can also promote upcoming events such as concerts, parades and sports registrations to its over 24,000 residents.  However, it’s much more than a push notification system from the city to residents.  With the tap of a button, residents can: report suspicious activity, submit maintenance requests and request a property watch for a home or business.  Camera, video and GPS locator functionality provide specific location data and a very accurate description of the scrutinized activity.  A city directory allows residents to rapidly reply and communicate directly with local law enforcement and city staff.  “Mauldin Mobile” also offers a property lockbox feature where residents can catalog information regarding their valuables and private property.  If an item is stolen, all the information can be transferred directly to a police report.  In difficult situations, Mauldin Mobile may be used to give residents up to the minute alerts and recommendations on how to best proceed and take the most appropriate actions.

“We have become dependent on our mobile devices for the consuming and sharing of information,” said Jeff Cosman, CEO of Attis Industries, the developer of the app. “With Mauldin Mobile and Bright City, city leaders and staff can proactively message residents at any place and time, and community members can communicate more quickly and easily with the one thing they always have on them, their smart phone.”

“Mauldin Mobile” was developed by Attis through its subsidiary, Mobile Sciences Technologies, Inc.  Based on multiple meetings with city department leaders, the app was customized to meet the specific needs of Mauldin.  “The City of Mauldin is always looking for innovative ways to collaborate with our residents and make them feel like they can quickly engage with officials and staff,” said Taft Matney, Mauldin City Council Member and Chair of Mauldin’s Economic Development Committee.  “When we heard that Bright City was looking for cutting-edge, forward-thinking cities to pilot their app, we jumped at the chance.  We truly believe this will help encourage and expedite the flow of information between our city staff and our residents,” Matney continued.

Attis will pilot Bright City in two additional cities prior to full implementation of the app and is currently in discussions with multiple cities interested in serving as other potential pilot cities.  The app, which can be tailored to meet the unique needs of the city, works across all mobile platforms including iPhones, iPads, Android phones, Android tablets and Windows phones.
