With an array of portfolio enhancements and evolution to Wi-Fi 6, the whitepaper details Wi-Fi’s broadening ability to support advanced use cases while maintaining the inherent strengths that have made Wi‑Fi a success. Wi-Fi delivers reliability, security, and interoperability, and will soon deliver greater capacity, faster speeds, and lower latency to support next generation use cases such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), Ultra high-definition (Ultra HD) video, multiparty gaming, Internet of Things (IoT), and other immersive experiences.

For nearly two decades, Wi-Fi networks have created a distributed connectivity fabric that brings Wi-Fi where it is needed most: in homes, inside buildings, and in dense outdoor areas. Wi-Fi has done this while protecting users with a high level of security and making efficient use of available unlicensed spectrum.
