The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) and Metabolic Medical Institute (MMI) conclude the 26th Annual World Congress—their largest event—in Las Vegas

Boca Raton, Florida, Dec. 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The 26th Annual World Congress concluded on Saturday, December 15th at the Venetian/Palazzo Resort in Las Vegas: marking 26 years of redefining modern medicine through advanced education surrounding Anti-Aging Medicine. CEO of Tarsus Medical, Doreen Brown, stated: “In delivering 26 years of pioneering innovation and trailblazing advancements, our work reinforces the importance of personalized and precision medicine. As leaders in the movement of anti-aging, we are proud that each year our message continues to grow—and impact thousands of physicians and patients.”

Over six thousand participants gathered to further their knowledge and understanding of preventive, personalized, and precision medicine at the three-day conference from December 13-15, which provided advanced education through educational lectures, interactive sessions, and afternoon breakout sessions. The conference boasted an Exhibit Hall that hosted 400 companies, with vendors that showcased key therapeutic products, devices, and services in Integrative, Anti-Aging, & Aesthetic Medicine: including pharmaceutical products and diagnostic testing, nutraceuticals and cosmeceuticals, digital health devices, and the most recently available medical technologies featuring machine learning, robotics, and artificial intelligence. The companies collectively offered the most modern advancements and developments in the field: all of which were based in extensive, clinical scientific research and findings. The event additionally hosted advanced educational opportunities through foundational modules in the Fellowship in Anti-Aging, Metabolic and Functional Medicine, and a newly created Peptides Certification led by experts in the rapidly expanding field of peptide therapies. Oral and Written exams were held for healthcare professionals & practitioners pursuing their Anti-Aging board and diplomate certifications.

In addition to four keynote presentations, the Congress featured 75 educational sessions, 16 learning tracks, 10 Professional Medical Education workshops, and 14 Product Theater presentations. Pre-conference workshops on December 12th offered delegates the opportunity for further advanced education surrounding some of the most pertinent and relevant topics in modern healthcare: “Achieving Longevity with Restorative Hormone Therapy,” “Breakthroughs in Peptide Therapy,” “Cannabis in Medicine,” and “A Branding Facelift: How to Market Your Aesthetics Practice."

Prominent, influential, notable leaders in healthcare delivered keynote presentations: all of which were focused on the critical need for both innovation and transformation in medicine, and how today’s practice of healthcare requires an extreme paradigm shift to patient-centered care. Business executive, entrepreneur, and inventor Naveen Jain targeted the most recent progressions in the landscape of modern healthcare, with a specific focus on the need for collaborative solutions, continued empowerment, and a passion for problem-solving. Pamela Wible, MD, known as ‘Physicians’ Guardian Angel,’ delivered a lecture titled “Finding Your Bliss: Beating Physician Burnout,” coupled with a panel session and Q&A surrounding the imminent complications of mental health, the growing trend of burnout among physicians, and statistics surrounding the infrequently discussed phenomenon of physician suicide. Biogerontologist, cell biologist, and Director of the Longevity Institute of the University of Southern California Valter Longo, PhD discussed intermittent fasting and the Fasting Mimicking Diet (FMD): an increasingly popular scientific breakthrough based on research that restriction of protein, calories, and sugar may reduce genetic markers associated with cancer, hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease. Having recently been named one of the 50 Most Influential People in Health Care by TIME magazine, Dr. Longo’s patented research is based in the most cutting-edge exploration of regeneration and rejuvenation. Renowned clinician and expert in the applied science of longevity Peter Attia, MD focused on an approach to longevity rooted in reverse engineering; Dr. Attia’s keynote included the latest clinical research surrounding strategies to increase lifespan—including the elusive mTor signaling pathway—coupled with specific strategies designed to increase both lifespan and health span. These keynotes represented the continual effort to redefine and reshape medicine, and inspired attendees to commit and contribute towards a new century of wellness and longevity.

The annual conference offered a uniquely exciting opportunity for attendees to be at the forefront of the constantly evolving industry of healthcare: the optimal platform to establish new business and networking contacts, receive extensive advanced education specifically engineered to enhance practices and patient care, and socialize with medical professionals from a wide array of disciplines and fields. This year’s World Congress showcased its most revolutionary agenda and programming yet: structured to push boundaries, while focusing on entrepreneurial opportunities in integrative medicine, the application of technology in healthcare, the critical trend of physician burnout and its impact on mental health, and the most cutting-edge clinical breakthroughs in longevity. As Dr. Pamela Wible opened her keynote presentation: “How refreshing is it to be in a room with 4,000 people—innovative, fresh thinkers—who are disrupting the medical system.”
