Arvig Acquires Portions of Windstream’s Minnesota and Nebraska Fiber Network

PERHAM, Minn., Dec. 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Arvig Enterprises, Inc. announced today that they have purchased portions of Windstream’s excess out-of-territory fiber network in Minnesota.  The additional network adds more than 1,600 fiber route miles and grows Arvig’s network to in excess of 10,000 miles.

Additionally, Arvig has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase additional fiber assets from Windstream in Nebraska. The acquisition of the Nebraska assets is expected to close in the first quarter of 2019.

“Expanding our broadband footprint is core to our strategic priorities and bolsters our fiber assets throughout Minnesota and across the Midwest,” said David Arvig, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Arvig. “This purchase expands the Arvig-owned network and positions us to provide business- and enterprise-class customers with more services on our own facility.”
