Dime Community Bank Announces the Appointment of Chief Technology Officer

Michael J. Fegan Joins Dime to Drive Technology Solutions for Commercial Banking Business

BROOKLYN, N.Y., Feb. 12, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kenneth J. Mahon, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dime Community Bancshares, Inc. (the “Company”) (NASDAQ: DCOM), the parent company of Dime Community Bank (the “bank” or “Dime”), is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael J. Fegan as Chief Technology Officer of the organization.   

Mr. Mahon noted, “As Dime continues to enhance its commercial bank platform, aligning the benefits of our technology to the goals of our commercial banking and retail banking business objectives is a significant and continued focus.”  Mr. Mahon further stated, “We believe Michael is the right person to drive our technology efforts forward, improving the usability of our existing solutions and investing in new solutions, which will help support our growing commercial banking business."

Prior to joining Dime, Mr. Fegan served as the Chief Information and Operations Officer of Investors Bank, where he directed the Information Technology, Client Care, PMO, Deposit Services, Cash Management and Loan Servicing functions.  Prior to his experience at Investors Bank, Mr. Fegan acted as Chief Operations and Technology Officer at Bank Leumi and the Chief Information Officer for Suffolk County National Bank.
  
In addition to his professional responsibilities, Mr. Fegan actively supports Plan International and the Nature Conservancy. Through Plan International, he provides resources to impoverished children, who live in foreign countries.

Mr. Fegan is a graduate of Northwestern University.
