UPDATE - Cybersecurity Marketer of the Year Nominees and Judges Announced

Community to Recognize and Celebrate its Best and Brightest Prior to RSA Conference

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Feb. 19, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Cybersecurity Go To Market Dojo, the industry’s premier community for Cybersecurity marketing and communications professionals, today announced the 30 nominees for its 2019 Marketer of the Year awards.  The awards, to be presented on March 3rd in San Francisco by premier sponsor Cybersecurity Insiders, will recognize the leading Cybersecurity marketers in three categories, Marketer of the Year in a Public Company, Marketer of the Year in a Private Company, and the Rising Star Marketer of the Year.

Over 250 Cybersecurity marketing professionals will gather at the Dojo’s 2019 RSA Conference Marketer’s Pre-fresher event on Sunday evening March 3rd at the Thirsty Bear Brewery in San Francisco. The event, sponsored by premier sponsor Security Marcom, as well as 10Fold Communications, Code Red Security PR Network and DWCC, is expected to sell out.

“We started the Dojo 18 months ago as a way to further excellence in the practice of Cybersecurity Marketing,” said Dojo founder Ken Rutsky. “In that time, we’ve reached thousands of professionals with our online community, newsletter, and events.  We are excited to be offering these awards this year as a way of fulfilling a key part of our mission, to recognize the accomplishments of the best in our industry.”

Nominees submitted by the community for the awards are listed at the end of this release. Finalists and award winners will be announced at the March 3rd event.

“It’s an honor and privilege to be nominated by the community,” said Varun Kohli, head of global demand at Symantec, “the Dojo has created a forum for sharing best practices and learning from each other that’s been missing in our industry, and I’m just thrilled to be recognized by my peers.”

Also announced were the first two judges for the awards, Richard Stiennon, chief research analyst at IT-Harvest, renowned cybersecurity author, and former chief marketing officer at Fortinet, and Dr. Chenxi Wang, founder of Rain Capital, investor, former chief strategy officer at Twistlock, and vice president of security research at Forrester.

“Chenxi was the very first speaker at the Dojo and our community knows and respects her greatly. I’ve followed Richard’s work for over a decade, and he is highly respected and well thought of across the end user and vendor community.  Richard and Chenxi bring incredible experience and expertise to our judging panel, and we are thrilled to have them,” Rutsky added.

Required pre-registration for the event is free and open to all cybersecurity vendor marketing, sales and executive teams at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/rsa-2019-marketers-prefresher-happy-hour-marketer-of-the-year-awards-tickets-54871204249
