The Royal Canadian Legion welcomes new Minister of Veterans Affairs Canada

OTTAWA, March 01, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Royal Canadian Legion welcomes Canada’s new Minister of Veterans Affairs, the Honourable Lawrence MacAulay.

“We look forward to working directly with Minister MacAulay at the first available opportunity,” says Dominion President Thomas D. Irvine. “Knowing his vast experience in government including as a past Secretary of State for Veterans and his understanding of seniors’ issues, this appears to be a very positive appointment.”

The Legion hopes to explore a range of issues with Minister MacAulay as soon as possible, including sharing concerns about the new Pension for Life program set to be released on April 1, and advocating for an improved transition system for Veterans leaving military life.
