Risk Strategies’ Brokers Among a Select Group to Be Named a Cyber COPE Insurance Certification Designee by Chubb and Carnegie Mellon University

BOSTON, March 13, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Rob Rosenzweig and Aaron Turner of Risk Strategies in New York, NY and Chicago, Illinois have been awarded the Chubb Cyber COPE Insurance CertificationSM (CCIC) designation from Chubb and Carnegie Mellon University’s (CMU) Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy.

Rosenzweig and Turner are among a group of insurance professionals this year to complete the seven-month certification program, which educates the participants about industry best practices in cyber security risk management, governance, and operations. Created by Chubb and CMU’s Heinz College in 2018, the CCIC program is the first of its kind for agents and brokers. Major topics covered included cyber security foundations, cyber risk and resilience management, effective incident response, cyber law and regulation, and developing custom insurance solutions.

“We designed this unique program to provide participants with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the constantly evolving cyber risk landscape and to provide hands-on practical cyber security solutions,” said Bobbie Goldie, Senior Vice President, North America Financial Lines at Chubb. “Agents and brokers who have completed the program have demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of the cyber security landscape, so they can help their clients manage their cyber risk exposures.”

“Rob and Aaron have worked very hard to receive this respected designation,” said John Mina, President, Risk Strategies. “Their dedication to have the uppermost level of skill and expertise to advise clients on their complex insurance needs is both admirable and a model for the deep technical capability we strive to bring to them every day.”

The courses were provided by Chubb professionals and faculty from CMU’s Heinz College, comprising industry leading experts and practitioners in cybersecurity. As part of the certification program, participants developed an engagement strategy and a custom solution for a chosen organization that was designed to allow participants to apply several of the methods, tools, and techniques taught during the program.

To maintain the designation, participants are required to attend two virtual sessions each year.
