What Does True Collaboration in Engineering and Technology Look Like?

National Engineering Month brings together thousands of Ontarians at over 300 events in March to increase diversity, inclusion and collaboration in Engineering and Technology


TORONTO, March 13, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- March is National Engineering Month (NEM)! With over 300 events across Ontario, students, teachers, parents and professionals will be hosting hands-on events that link engineering and engineering technology with creativity, collaboration and critical thinking. Events including design build competitions, hackathons, workshops, and conversations connect engineering and engineering technology to wicked problems, while promoting a culture of diversity, collaboration and innovation. Check out the stories of thousands of volunteers contributing their time to support their local communities. Here a few of the exciting events coming up:

March 15          NEM at the CN Tower! - CN Tower
Spend time discovering all the cool ways engineering and engineering technology influences the world around us with fun activities designed by the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers from March 11-15th!

March 15          Pueblo Science Robotics Competition - Dufferin Mall
A free robotics competition for 8-17 year-old students to be introduced to building, programming and racing skills and while competing and winning fun prizes!                      

March 24          Sustainable Cities Design Challenge Workshop - Evergreen Brick Works
A half-day workshop that will introduce youth participants to the importance and challenges of designing sustainable cities, lead them through a hands-on design process, and conduct a STEM integration activity.

March 26          IMAX Presents Women in Leadership - IMAX Corporation, Mississauga
Enjoy an evening of comedy, inspiration and networking with some of the top female leaders in the tech industry. The panel discussion will be followed by a screening of an IMAX documentary. All are welcome to this free event!

March 28          A conversation on the intersection of art, ethics & engineering - Sidewalk Labs
In an era where Engineers are tasked with making decisions that affect the future of humanity, how are we giving them the tools to make ethical choices? Get a sneak preview of filmmaker Pietro Gagliano's vision followed by a moderated discuss with 5 leaders in STEAM.
