FogHorn and Honeywell Present Edge-Based Machine Learning for Android Powered Industrial Devices at Google Cloud Next 2019

The breakout session will showcase traditional and adaptive machine learning, revolutionized for mobile devices, to support real-world IIoT use cases

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 02, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FogHorn, a leading developer of edge AI software for industrial and commercial Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, today announced its CTO Sastry Malladi and VP of Product Management Ramya Ravichandar will be panelists for the session “Honeywell and FogHorn Leverage Android for Smart Industrial Devices” (IOT206) at Google Cloud Next ‘19 in San Francisco, CA. Sastry and Ramya join Scott Bracken, Director, Advanced Technology at Honeywell for the session from 5 to 5:50 p.m. PT on Apr. 9. FogHorn will also showcase the functionalities of its Lightning platform for several industrial use cases at booth S1161 during the conference.

As part of the panel, FogHorn and Honeywell, a Fortune 100 technology company that invents and manufactures technologies to address some of the world’s most critical challenges around energy, safety, security, productivity and global urbanization, will share how its solutions are revolutionizing Android-powered industrial devices using both traditional and adaptive machine learning to solve real customer problems. The session will demonstrate emerging use cases, including barcode image reconstruction and device battery lifespan prediction.

The event follows FogHorn’s announcement of Lightning Mobile, the industry’s first edge computing solution built specifically for industrial mobile devices. Lightning Mobile empowers operational technology (OT) and field professionals with real-time analytics, machine learning (ML) and AI on mobile, battery-powered devices, without having to rely on connectivity to the cloud, speeding decision making and industrial workflow.

“Properly trained ML models can be deployed on industrial devices to accurately predict asset productivity, failure conditions and significantly enhance machine performance based on the real-time data,” said Sastry Malladi, CTO at FogHorn. “For industrial organizations using Android-powered mobile devices, edge-based machine learning enables massive operational improvements, facilitating real-world IIoT use cases including next-generation barcode scanners and power-efficient monitors and sensors.”
