NAEP Recognizes JAGGAER Customers 2019 Annual Awards for Procurement Excellent

The NAEP’s Mission is to advance the development of ethical and innovative procurement strategies within educational institutions and associated communities through collaboration, professional development, networking and advocacy.

Representing outstanding influence in the field of procurement, the following institutions and university personnel were honored by NAEP:

Bob Ashby Mentor of the Year Award: Brandon Harper (Texas Tech)

The Bob Ashby Mentor of the Year Award recognizes an individual who has been a mentor to a Member. The nominee is someone who is an active Member of NAEP, cares about the success of the Member, their organization and ultimately the profession.

Neil D. Markee Communicator of the Year: Justin Sullivan (UCOP)
Neil D. Markee Communicator of the Year: Veronica Cook Euell (Kent State University)
Neil D. Markee Communicator of the Year: Daysha Holmes (Virginia Tech) 

The Neil Markee Communicator of the Year Award recognizes a Member who made the most outstanding contribution to the profession during the year through the written or spoken word.

Young Professional Award: Jennifer Leckerling (University of Florida)

The Young Professional in Procurement Award is to recognize the efforts of an outstanding young procurement professional. This award will be presented to a young professional that has been an active Member of NAEP for at least one year and has made great strides and contributions to the education procurement industry. Nominee’s must have fewer than 10 years of experience in the education procurement industry and be 40 years old or less.

Volunteer of the Year Award: Tom Youngs (University of Pittsburgh)
Volunteer of the Year Award: Duane Tucker (University of Colorado)

The Volunteer of the Year Award acknowledges and recognizes the voluntary achievements of a current Member who has contributed time and resources to benefit the overall goals of NAEP. A total of three individuals can receive this award.

Distinguished Service Award: Mike LaGrassa (University of Massachusetts)

The Distinguished Service Award is designed to recognize individual Members who have provided extraordinary service to their institutions, the higher education community, the Association or the purchasing profession. A total of three individuals can receive this award.

Excellence in procurement: UC Davis
Excellence in procurement: Southern New Hampshire University

The NAEP Award of Excellence in Procurement is awarded to an institution on the basis of the procurement department's contribution to, and support of, the mission of their institution. Applications are evaluated on the basis of: scope and complexity of the endeavor, technological leadership, benefit to the institution and key constituents, and demonstration of excellence and professionalism. The endeavor, product, or service should be innovative and exemplary, and provide significant advantage to the institution, faculty, staff, and/or students.

Bert C. Ahrens Achievement Award: William Cooper (UCOP)

The Bert C. Ahrens Achievement Award is designed to recognize a former or present Member who has made outstanding contributions to NAEP and the procurement profession over an extended period of time. This award is the highest form of recognition offered by the Association.
