April 2019 traffic figures
In April 2019, Paris Aéroport welcomed 9.4 million passengers, an increase of 8.4% compared with April 2018. 6.5 million passengers travelled through Paris-Charles de Gaulle (+12.9%) and 2.9 million through Paris-Orly (-0.4%). As a reminder, Air France staff strikes strongly impacted April 2018 traffic.
- International traffic (excluding Europe) was up (+10.4%), due to growth in the following destinations: North America (+16.2%), Latin America (+15.6%), the French Overseas Territories (+9.4%), Africa (+7.9%), the Middle East (+7.6%) and Asia-Pacific (+7.3%);
- European traffic (excluding France) was up by 6.9%;
- Traffic within France was up by 7.5%;
- The number of connecting passengers increased by 32.6%. The connecting rate stood at 20.6%, up by 3.8 points compared with April 2018.
Since the beginning of the year, Paris Aéroport passenger traffic has increased by 5.2%, with a total of 33.2 million passengers. The number of connecting passengers has risen by 13.0%. The connecting rate stands at 23.5%, up by 1.6 points.
Passenger traffic at TAV Airports, 46.1%-owned by Groupe ADP, decreased by 41.6% in April 2019 and has decreased of 14.7% since the beginning of the year(1), notably following the Istanbul Atatürk commercial flights transfer to the new Istanbul Airport as of 6 April 2019(2). Excluding Istanbul Atatürk, TAV Airport traffic increased by 0.6% over April 2019 and decreased by 3.5% since the beginning of the year.
Passenger traffic at Santiago de Chile Airport, 45%-owned by Groupe ADP, increased by 21.1% in April 2019 and has increased by 12.6% since the beginning of the year.
Passenger traffic at Amman Airport, 51%-owned by Groupe ADP, increased by 11.9% in April 2019 and has increased by 7.4% since the beginning of the year.
