SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - August 02, 2016) - Arxan Technologies, the trusted provider of application attack prevention and self-protection solutions, today announced the addition of several significant new features to its products. These include new and enhanced support for major operating systems and programming languages, including QNX (a subsidiary of Blackberry), a leading platform in the IoT space for connected cars and medical devices, and Swift (Apple's programming language), as well as new white-box cryptographic schemes including SHA-3. These updates demonstrate Arxan's commitment to innovation and dedication to helping customers stay ahead of the latest attacks targeting mobile and IoT applications.
"As more attacks occur at the mobile and IoT application layer, binary code protection has become a critical line of defense," said Sam Rehman, CTO of Arxan. "Nefarious actors continue to manipulate binary code in order to steal IP, credentials and other sensitive information by bypassing security controls, injecting malware, hijacking apps, as well as a host of other exploits. Arxan continues to pave the way in application attack prevention and self-protection and our innovative technology and unyielding customer support with a partnership approach help our clients stay ahead of the latest attacks."
Arxan's patented technology defends applications against attacks, detects attempted attacks at run-time, and deters attacks by stopping, alerting or repairing detected attacks. Arxan offers solutions for software running on mobile devices, desktops, servers, and embedded platforms, including those connected as part of the Internet of Things (IoT). Industries include mobile banking, mobile payments, connected cars, connected medical devices, gaming, and digital media, among others. Arxan works with many marquees partners in the security space including IBM and Cigital to deliver comprehensive solution to enterprises.
New Support and Features
- QNX - Arxan offers one of the first solutions for protecting apps on the QNX platform. QNX is a leading platform for the Internet of Things (IoT) and is used across several industries, particularly in the automotive and medical device industries.
- Swift- Apple's programming language, used in MacOS, iOS, and tvOS development will be supported by Arxan, one of the fastest adoptions, ensuring that customers can continue using the latest programming languages with great confidence that their applications are well-protected.
- SHA-3- Updated in 2015, SHA-3 offers a new message digest algorithm that will be included in Arxan's white-box, allowing customers to use updated algorithms for the latest cryptographic schemes.
In addition, Arxan will also provide various other strong features in these product releases including coverage for Android N, iOS 10, Emulator Detection Guard, Shamir Secret Sharing Scheme, and JNI Authentication Guard.
"The rapid adoption of IoT and connected devices creates an even larger attack surface for cyber criminals. Cigital is pleased to partner with Arxan, a leader in application attack prevention and protection, to jointly offer a suite of IoT application protection technologies and services to mitigate these emerging threats," said John Steven, Internal CTO of Cigital. "Through this partnership, Cigital and Arxan enable customers to embrace IoT innovation with the confidence that their security challenges are addressed."
